Commissioner Ali Al Kaabi visits Khatm Al Melaha Customs Centre

His Excellency Commissioner Ali Al Kaabi, Head of the Federal Customs Authority, FCA, visited on Sunday 27th of February  2017 the border terminal- Khatm Al Melah Customs Centre.


His Excellency Mohammed Meer Abdul Rahman Al Sarrah, Director of the Department of Seaports & Customs (DSPC), and Mohammed Al Raeesi, Director of Khatm Mellah Centre and several Customs Officers received Commissioner Al Kaabi and Mr. Ahmed bin Lahij, Executive Director of Customs Affairs Sector at the UAE Federal Customs Authority  .
 The guests toured the facilities of the centre and witnessed the operations of scanning trucks at the border terminal, which is regarded one of the best and the most modern German made scanners available in the region due to its high technical specifications. The scanner device is able to scan 150 trucks in an hour and monitors the contents of the cargo loaded on each truck. They also listened to a detailed explanation from the Director of the Customs Centre about the followed customs clearance procedures which take only few minutes for each transaction.

  
His Excellency Commissioner Ali Al Kaabi also viewed the entry /exit tracks of the users (tourist coaches, busses and trucks)  and praised the efforts of the working staff which is totally managed by national employees.


Al Kaabi also expressed his appreciation for the achievements of the Department of Seaports and Customs - Sharjah which is headed by Chairman,  Sheikh Khaled bin Abdullah bin Sultan Al Qasimi,  for providing state of art monitoring equipment at the border terminal Customs Centre of Khatm Al Melaha.
